DEFENSIVE PISTOL 2

Course Description 

This course focuses on advanced techniques to enhance your ability to protect yourself in real-life situations. You'll learn essential skills like shooting from unconventional positions, engaging multiple targets, quick reloads, and drawing from concealment. Our experienced instructors will guide you through practical drills, helping you build confidence and improve your accuracy under pressure.

Safety Review and Reinforcement

Basics of shooting at different distances with time constraints

Safely and efficiently draw your firearm (4-step draw process)

Engage targets accurately under pressure (speed) 

Understand personal limitations with speed and/or distance

Switching your firearm to your offhand

Shooting & ready positions

Moving to, and then shooting from, behind cover

Overall mechanical efficiency

This course is supported with a FREE USCCA book, "Level 2" with information to help students learn about the skills & responsibilities when it comes to defensive shooting.

Who is the Course For? 

This course is designed for those who are proficient with basic manipulations of their firearms, drawing from a holster, and can consistently keep their rounds on an 8-inch target at 5 yards. If you are unsure if this is the class for you, please reach out to our instructors to arrange a free diagnostic lesson.

A Independence Range Waiver must be completed before class begins.

Open toed shoes, shorts, and low-cut tops should be avoided due to the chance of hot casings or debris touching the skin. 

A Inside or Outside the waistband holster for appendix, 3 or 4 o'clock. The holster must stay open when the gun is not in the holster, kydex or high quality leather, no nylon soft holsters. Holsters must be approved by the instructor at the beginning of class. Serpa holsters or holsters that use the trigger finger to deactivate a retention device are NOT allowed.
