Course Description
AR 2, Defensive
An AR 2, Defensive rifle class teaches students how to effectively use the AR platform in defensive scenarios. The course covers fundamental rifle handling, proper grip, and stance, while emphasizing target acquisition, sight alignment, and trigger control for precision shooting. Students learn how to operate the rifle under stress, transitioning between targets quickly and accurately, and engaging threats at various distances. The class also focuses on tactical reloads, malfunction clearing, and shooting from various positions, including standing, kneeling, and prone.
Course Curriculum

For experienced shooters who are already comfortable with basic AR handling and aiming techniques, and are familiar with their sighting system

This class is best suited for those seeking to improve their ability to perform under pressure, and be able to manipulate the AR platform

Prerequisites
Completed AR 1
A sling system on your AR, and a zeroed optic or red dot sighting system
A MINIMUM of three magazines
A Independence Range Waiver must be completed before class begins

AR-15, 2 point sling, sighting system like a red dot of optic, and 200 rounds of ball ammo, 2-3 magazines

Paper & Pen is Recommended

Snacks & Drink:
Just in the Classroom

Open toed shoes, shorts, and low-cut tops should be avoided due to the chance of hot casings or debris touching the skin.

An AR-15 is the recommended platform for this class, other calibers in the platform can be used. Sound and break mitigation devices are recommended.
