Course Description
SHOTGUN 1
Shotgun 1 is for beginners and enthusiasts eager to learn the fundamentals of shotgun shooting. This comprehensive course covers essential topics such as firearm safety, proper handling, and basic shooting techniques. Participants will explore different types of shotguns, their components, and how to maintain them. Under the guidance of certified instructors, students will engage in hands-on practice at a controlled range, gaining confidence in loading, aiming, and firing.
Students will also learn about practical applications of shotgun use, including sport shooting, hunting, and home defense. The curriculum includes an introduction to various shooting stances and strategies for hitting stationary and moving targets, such as clay pigeons. By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to safely handle and shoot a shotgun, along with an understanding of how to continue their training.

Prerequisites
18-years-old and older is recommended. Under 18 years old must be accompanied with a legal guardian and be able to demonstrate a learning attitude and physical ability to safely handle a firearm.
A Independence Range Waiver must be completed before class begins.

Just in the Classroom

Open toed shoes, shorts, and low-cut tops should be avoided due to the chance of hot casings or debris touching the skin.

This course is designed for shotguns with sticks and tubular magazines, similar to Mossberg 500/590, Remington 870, and Beretta 1301. Both Pump and Semi-auto Shotguns are permissable.
