Course Description
Moving, Cover, & Angles
This course will enhance your ability to engage effectively and confidently in dynamic shooting scenarios. You will learn the essential techniques of moving while shooting, utilizing cover for protection, and understanding angles to gain a tactical advantage. You will learn how to use cover as protection from threats like bullets or fragments and what distinguishes it from "partial cover," which, while less reliable, is better than no cover.

When, how to, and the importance of an offensive mindset
Techniques for maintaining accuracy while on the move in various directions by using available structures to stabilize your firing platform
Proper utilization of barriers and objects for minimizing exposure
How to effectively approach, clear, and engage targets around corners and obstacles
Learning unconventional shooting positions and techniques such as ambidextrous shooting, proper stances, and supported firing are essential, especially in real-world conditions involving stress, fatigue, or injuries
Assessing threats in real-time both potentially near and far, and engaging appropriately
Dynamic exercises that simulate real-world scenarios to build confidence and situational awareness

This course is ideal for individuals seeking to enhance their tactical skills.
Recommended for law enforcement professionals, security professionals, competitive shooters, or responsible gun owners aiming to improve their defensive capabilities.

Prerequisites
Completion of DEFENSIVE PISTOL 1 or RED DOT 1.
Completion of an intermediate-level firearms course or equivalent experience like the "TRAINED CITIZEN" program.
A MINIMUM of three magazines. This is a higher round count course and time will be wasted without the ability to quickly reload the pistol in longer strings of fire.
21-years-old and older.
A Independence Range Waiver must be completed before class begins.

Just in the Classroom

Open toed shoes, shorts, and low-cut tops should be avoided due to the chance of hot casings or debris touching the skin.

This course requires a semi-auto handgun in good working order, with three magazines, preferably with a 12 or more round capacity. A gear check will be preformed prior to the shooting portion of the class. Firearms may be deployed from the holster in drills, students must be able to demonstrate good holsters technique.
