Course Description 

Holstering 

The Holstering Class is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to safely and efficiently draw and holster a firearm. This course emphasizes the importance of safety, proper technique, and situational awareness in both open and concealed carry scenarios. Students will be Holster Certified at Independence upon completion. 

Course Curriculum

A review of the different types of holsters and carrying conditions

Learning different locations to open and conceal carry, pros & cons

Learning proper grip, support hand placement, drawing, finger & trigger awareness, over coming clothing, stages of the draw to a ready position, the stages of re-holstering, and what not to do 

Holstering/carrying off body

Participating in drawing mechanic exercises

Getting the Independence Holster Certification

Who is the Course For? 

Anyone wanting to conceal carry 

Recommended that students take at least Basic Pistol 1 & 2 

For shooters that want to draw and shoot from the holster in the range

Prerequisites 

Basic Pistol 1 & 2 recommended

18-years-old and older is recommended. Under 18 years old must be accompanied with a legal guardian and be able to demonstrate a learning attitude and physical ability to safely handle a firearm.

Open toed shoes, shorts, and low-cut tops should be avoided due to the chance of hot casings or debris touching the skin. 

No gun? No problem! Let your instructor know you will need to use one of our guns, and we will take care of it for you at no cost. We will do our best to set you up with a gun that is appropriate for your specific needs.
