Course Description
This course will cover how to safely and efficiently draw your firearm, engage targets accurately at speed, and the basics of shooting on the move. It is designed for those who are comfortable with basic manipulations of their firearms (loading, unloading, clearing malfunctions) and can consistently keep their rounds on an 8-inch target at 5 yards. Learn shooting techniques that help you improve your effectiveness at self defense.

This course is supported with a FREE USCCA book that provides additional information to help students learn about the skills & responsibilities when it comes to defensive shooting.

Prerequisites
Must be 21-years-old or older.
Basic Pistol 1 & 2 or AN EQUIVALENT 8 HOUR PISTOL COURSE.
Students must have proper holsters and belts in order to take this class; please read requirements in the class details or email academy@iishooting.com for information.
A Independence Range Waiver must be completed before class begins.

Open toed shoes, shorts, and low-cut tops should be avoided due to the chance of hot casings or debris touching the skin.

An Inside or Outside the waistband holster for appendix, 3 or 4 o'clock. The holster must stay open when the gun is not in the holster, kydex or high quality leather, no nylon soft holsters. Holsters must be approved by the instructor at the beginning of class. Serpa holsters or holsters that use the trigger finger to deactivate a retention device are NOT allowed.
