SEAN BRENNER

MEDICAL INSTRUCTOR

I was raised in Pocatello Idaho. Graduated from Highland High School in 1989. Attended University of Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. I am married to my high school sweetheart. I have five children and Idaho is my home. I retired in 2017 with 25 years experience as a senior firefighter and lead paramedic with the Omaha Fire Department. My experience as a paramedic ranges from the field as a preceptor to the hospital in medical/surgical, PACU, OR, telemetry and ER arenas. My certifications through the years have been ACLS, BLS instructor, PALS, PTLS, Tac-Med, Stop the Bleed and a USCCA First Aid Instructor.

During my experiences in the field and hospital, I have found life's greatest happiness comes from helping others. I have taken part as a team member or a lead in thousands fire/EMS calls. Being able to assist or help in a time of need is invaluable to both the patient and to the first responders. This is the mind set I want to bring to my classroom. My classroom setting is one where discussion is welcomed and egos have to wait outside. The ideal learning environment in my opinion is where students can discuss openly, take part in practical skills and then apply them in the field comfortably.
